    Thank you for the review! MP4 is a container format, so After Effects compatibility depends on the specific video/audio codec used inside the file. It appears that After Effects supports H.264 video and AAC audio within an MP4 container. Could it be that your file is using VP9 for video and Opus for audio? If so, please try changing the video codec to H.264 and the audio codec to AAC and see if that resolves the issue. Please note that this software is provided free of charge and without warranty under the MIT License. As we do not have access to proprietary software such as After Effects, ensuring compatibility with it falls outside the scope of what we can reasonably support.

    A very well developed and simple to operate extension. Shall be even more improved if a small interface having option of play/resume is included like in many other recorders. Thanks

    Thank you for the kind words! We've considered area selection for recording, but implementing it while maintaining our current user experience and extension permissions presents technical challenges. For now, many video editing tools make it easy to crop videos after recording. Since this is a personal project developed in spare time, I can't promise when this feature might be added, but I appreciate your feedback.
