    I love Startpage. It is very reliable, safe to use and very efficient. I highly recommend you make Startpage your default search engine.

    Annoying "Privacy, please" ad. Annoying and bright mobile app ad. I don't care about all of these, just let me use the search in peace. No "New Tab" page. So many buzzwords instead of actual functionality.

    I use this on my Brave browser. At first I wasn't sure how it would add a search engine to Brave. But it completely bypasses all the other search engines to install over them. It so far seems to be worth downloading even though I've been using it for the day. Will update further at a later date.

    All this does is open a tab to Startpage.com. Your guide advises to use this extension to change the default search engine to Startpage. The guide would appear to be incorrect, as this doesn't change my default search to startpage: https://support.startpage.com/hc/en-us/articles/4480508968852-Make-Startpage-your-default-search-engine-in-Chrome OS Info: Linux Mint 22.2.
